Hey Guys,

I built a new system with the following parts.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor
MB: ASRock B550 Steel Legend ATX AM4 Motherboard (Bios V2.10)
Ram: G.Skill 32GB TridentZ Neo
HD: 4 X Seagate 6 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
HD: 1 X Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
PSU: Corsair SF600
Case: Rosewill RSV-R4000U 4U

As soon as I try and boot from USB Unraid, Fedora, Ubuntu The machine immediately resets.
On the mother board I don't have the 4 pin PSU connected plugged in but i'm told I don't need it.

Any Ideas?

Solution
Run memtest86 or memtest86+
They boot from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download them here:

I am not familiar with ubuntu, linux and such.
Do they support usb3,0 as a boot device?
Have you tried the usb2,0 ports?

Wow. Its the ram. Found 40 Errors. Thanks mate.

Ryzen is particularly sensitive to ram.
Is your ram all from the same matched kit?
If not, that could be the problem.

Does the part number show up on the motherboard ram qvl list, or is it explicitly supported by g.skil on their ram selection app for your motherboard?

I have now tried 3 sets of ram and still the same issue. As soon as I boot from USB it resets.

Im going to send the board back and buy another.

What do you guys recommend based on all the other parts I have.

I now want to steer clear of Asrock.

EDIT:
I wanted to add this is for my Unraid Server.

EDIT 2:
This is the RAM I have now.

Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 3600(PC4-28800) C181.35V Desktop Memory - Black
