Question New Build turns on then straight off

Hi,

I have just built my first PC from scratch and when I turn the pc on everything powers up and then shuts off. It then try’s again and the same keeps happing. Nothing appears on screen?

Any help?

Have you correctly installed the standoffs between case and motherboard? Have you connected the case fans either to motherboard, or to power supply, but not to both?
If yes, what components using?

Yes the standoffs are installed correctly. The case fans are connect to the motherboard and power supply and they both begin to work when the system is switched on.

Motherboard is: MSI B360M
CPU: i3 6100
GPU: 1060 6GB
RAM: Corsair RGB Vengeance 2 x 8gb
PSU: Aerocool 500W Bronze
Case fans, Corsair LL120 RGB

I’m starting to think my PSU maybe?

Try disconnecting the case fans from power supply. Leave them connected to motherboard only.

Just disconnect them. It only turns the rbg off on the fans. The fans still run

That’s not the board I have. I have the B360M Mortar Titanium

It doesn't matter. That chipset supports only 8th and 9th gen CPUs.

Arrrr no!!! So if I get and 8th gen processor from that list it will solve the problem!?

Hey man. I’ve encounter another problem if your able to help? My cpu now works but now I can’t get a display on screen. On my motherboard the VRAM light is white on the debug. I’ve swapped RAM etc but it’s still on? Any ideas?

Have you tested each RAM slot on board with single RAM? Make sure that the RAM is inserted all the way in.

Yes. I’ve even swapped the RAM

The pins are fine. I’ve just realised I stuck some tac on the sliver plate underneath the mobo to stick my mount for the cooler screws to go into. Would this affect it?

Should be able to yeah. Bought it brand new of amazon so I don’t see why not? Do you think it’ll be fault ram slots?
