Hello all my dad has had a pc for about a year now I built it and put it together and worked fine for a few months then it wouldnt boot, cleared cmos and it worked again but now it's happened again but clearing cmos didnt work.

Just wondering if theres anything faulty as I built an identical pc for myself and have never had problems only difference is I have a 1000w psu in mine and dad has an 850w

Specs are
-gigabyte 990Xa ud3 r5
-gigabyte rx-570 8gb gaming
-amd fx-8350
-8gb g.skill ripjaws @1866
-Coolermaster v8 cooler
-4x case fans @120mm
-2x standard hdd and 1x optical drive
-Coolermaster enba real power pro rs-850

Any suggestions appreciated, I'm thinking it's either board related or psu related?

Do you live under the same house? The reason I ask this is that you have the luck of having 2 PCs in 1 place.

The best thing to do is to take a component from your PC and put it on your dad's PC. You can do this 1 by 1 until the PC turns on and you'll have your solution.

Also, please keep in mind that 850w is way too much for a build like this. 550watt will be way more than enough. If the issue is the PSU, I would recommend getting a better quality PSU with lower wattage.
