Hello,
I am building a new pc but trying to stay within $1300 - 1400 price range
Currently have i7 8700 16 gb 2333 ram nvidia 2070

I am thinking I5 13500 and 4060ti , 32gb 3600mhz ram
Obviously I will get a Mobo, PS, m2 for windows and storage plus getting new case as well
Question is for 2560 x 1080p gaming 120hz does this seem good upgrade/build or should I change processor/gpu?

Thank you in advance.

What motherboards are you seriously considering...the top 2 or 3?

With a budget of 1300-1400, a 300 plus dollar board might cramp your CPU/GPU choices. Not sure I'd consider CPU/GPU choices in isolation. Likewise, storage requirements expense might come into play.

Where are you most likely to buy from? Amazon?

or is the any other recomendations for cpu/gpu?
That 120mm fan goes inside the back of that case for an exhaust fan.

the 5600x3d is of a rarity unless you can ( which i highly doubt ) get retail versions of the 5600x3d every one else is selling them on ebay at a premium ..
personally id wait for AMD's 7800xt or 7700xt cards being 16gb and 12 gb at last rumour check before wasting good money on Nvidia's rubbish components ..
nothing wrong with a 13600kf on a b760 or if you can find a z690 with bios flashback ddr4 is still fine but

^ have a look at micrcenter website, almost all the locations show 25+ in stock. none show out of stock.

and if we are waiting for 7800, might as well wait for 14600k. will give a price drop on 13600k.
have you asked where this guys is located ??
Im in Australia no micro centers near me so im at 300 to 400 usd off ebay for one..
7800xt is a gpu not sure what the 14600 has got to do with a gpu unless of course you mean how long till release i would still wait to see what AMD is going to do instead of wasting money on 8gb rubbish in 2023 !!
the 7600 gpu included !!
Also if this person is looking at building a new system ( despite my annoyance at Intels crappy socket life ) AM4 is a deader platform than the LGA1700 at this point..
the 5600x3d like the 5800x3d only really makes sense if you already have a AM4 platform and want that performance boost!!

Not trying to pick a fight here.

4070 build is not possible with a 13600k. hence my decision to choose a 5600X3D. if you dont want a 4070, stick with 13600k. if you want a 4070, pick either 5600X3D or 13400.

7800 is not released yet, same case for 14600k. So if we have to wait, might was well wait for both and get 13600k cheaper. Who knows, maybe even the 4070 might come down in price a bit.

As for the location, almost everyone assumes its in the US. if thats not the case, we have to update the part list again and i would give a proper recommendation that time...

thats cool not looking for one ..
just trying to offer alternatives based on my opinions to save money and future proof systems !!
i personally wouldnt go near a 5600x3d or a 5800x3d this late in the game unless already on a AM4 system nothing wrong with a 13500 or the 13400 if budget is a thing
a good argument as i always say is a 7600 non x and a cheaper b650 AM5 platform with some ddr5 for future proofing if budget permits ..

Im just really skeptical of these 12gb ( hey not to bad ) but its disgusting to sell any GPU in 2023 with just 8gb of Vram be it either AMD or Nvidia !!
A better buy would be a 6950xt or a 6800xt thats anything less than a 4070 12gb ( even then debatable ) 4070s currently are $1400aud and i can buy a 6950xt for around $1000aud and a 6800xt for $800 $900aud even budget budget 6750/6700xt with 12gb is super super cheap !!

Thank you everyone. I made some changes and came up with final choices.

Thermaltake - Smart 700W ATX 80 Plus Power Supply

Cooler Master - Hyper 212 Black Edition

Corsair Vengeance 32 gb 5600mhz DDR5

MSI PRO Z790 A - WIFI Mobo

Intel Core I5 13600 KF

WD - Black SN770 1tb SSD M2 PCIe Gen4 x 4

XFX Speedster MERC319 AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT CORE 16GB GDDR6

CORSAIR - 4000D AIRFLOW ATRX MidTower Case

Final Cost $1337.76

Too bad your list is final.

Thermaltake smart 700w is tier 6 on this quality list:
Operating temperature is max 40c. which is easily reached in a case.
A cheap psu is the last place you want to cut your budget on.

Hyper212 used to be a go to cheap cooler a long time ago, but
there are better cpu coolers that are easier to mount and are less expensive.

It does not pay to penny pinch on a F suffix processor with a high end build.
Having integrated graphics helps in testing and it can keep you going if you have gpu issues.

I like the case.

CPU cooler isn't good for the price. Gets handily beat by the cheaper Peerless Assassin 120 SE.

The thermaltake Smart series is also not good. You are not going to find a good 650-750w PSU for $55, they are going to cost 2x that.
