Question New components help needed

Been rocking a decent enough pc for about 10 years Now but seems either the mb, CPU or ram has packed in. Exhausted troubleshooting I believe to no avail. Not too fussed as is i5-3570k, a low end Asus p8 lx board and 16gb 1600mz ddr3. Also the case is quite old and janky.

So I was wondering. I still rock a Asus strix 4gb 970, two decent SSDs and a modular 750W PSU. What would be a good match for this?

I'm not looking to break the bank and will probably source some if not all from second hand. Just wondering what's a good CPU (red or blue) to work with my 970 that's not too expensive but not old as anything, a decent motherboard with upgrade options and some good ddr4 ram maybe 16gb? oh and a good standard ATX case?

Thanks in advance for any tips! Been a while since I've checked the components world so am out of my depth

Thanks the reply mate. Am in UK. Not sure on budget really but willing between say £150-350. Realise that's a wide berth, can potentially go higher if not possible for that much. Use it for day to day stuff and gaming. Primarily older ish titles like no top of the line game beyond like 2018. Like recently played shadow of war, GTA v, FIFA 20, it takes two. Not exactly too fussed about the latest and most demanding games. Essentially happy with an upgrade to what my 970 can do. Old combo definitely felt like a bottleneck on it, they were on their last legs. Hope that helps
