and will this be better (overclocked also) than te rig in my sig?

I think it's not bad...but I'm not sure about better...I mean I'm not sure if the performance increase is gonna be really significant...Although it probably will be there...

If you upgrade, your cpu performance will go up . . . but what problem does that solve for you?

2 X 4870 in crossfire, i am curently using a 4850, will the speed increase significantly with the 2 new cards?

Use a 4870X2 instead. The i5 will get more from 2 gpus on one card than on two cards.

We still don't know your screen resolution. This change may give you great frame rates but not change your game experience at all, or it may increase minimum frame rates and eye candy that you can display. What resolution will you run at?

where i live the X2 is almost $500 more expensive, cheaper to get 2 X 4870

resolution is on a benq 1920 X 1080

OK, well the new rig will likely benchmark better, and give you more headroom for future games.

Whether it would deliver a better gaming experience than just putting the 4870s in your current rig, even with one x4 slot, or a single 4890, is another question.
