New cpu Amd phemon II X4 965 BE - keyboard stops to function

i was upgrading my old -06 pc and swapped my old
DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2400 MHz (12 x 200) 4600+
to
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE

i was little sceptic that my motherboard was in truth amd3 compatible, but everywhere i read, it said it was (amd 2+ socket)
(Asus Crosshair, nVIDIA nForce 590 SLI, AMD Hammer)

as expected in some level, the bios did not recognize the the cpu without a cough. and requested to manually enter it's details ect.

the problem was, and still is

with that prosessor, my usb keyboard (Microsoft USB Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (IntelliType Pro))
didnt work at all.
it didnt work on any extraport, usb hubs or motherboard integrated usb ports.

my usb mouse, contected to ps2 port (adaptor) worked fine... that is... if it could be used at bios startup.
i tried to use that adaptor for my keyboard instead for its own ps2 port. i am unaware if they are or are not compatible like that, but that didnt work either.


initially, i tougth this problem was simply because my powersupply was not powerfull enougth, so i postponed the upgrade till i got a new one.
old one being 400W supply with only 4-pin extrapower cable for motherboard
while new one is 600W, with 4+4 pin extrapower cable. (motherboard has 4+4/8 pin inport for such cable. in addition to the usual 24 pin mainpower intake)

alas, after i got mentioned powersupply, nothing has changed. the issue remains at exacly same.

i could borrow ps2 port keyboard somehere, or get adaptor for keyboard self (if mouse's usb/ps2 adaptor is incompatible)
or keyboard is just being rather quite selective with whom it see fit to work with
and/or update bios if that does anything special. last time i remember udating it was 1-2 years ago. and i am aware that bios shouldnt be update, if there isnt any problems... well now there is xD


and now i am asking if any of you had any insigths or ideas how to fix this, i am all ears <3

ah yes, that would explain pretty well why it isnt working (tough keyboard not working with it is still amystery)

i did checking a while back, but apparetnly i did some mistakes with terminology ^^;
at time i looked for details it looked that it would have worked. oh well.,, i stand corrected.
