New cpu for 1080 ti

Going to get a gtx 1080 to when the prices come down a bit with the rxt coming out. Currently have an i5 4690k but not sure if it will bottleneck the 1080 for 1440p. What can I upgrade the CPU to? Preferably an lga1150 since that's what I current have. Or should I save up for an 1151 motherboard then cpu?

The higher the resolution the more the load takes away from the CPU. If you will be gaming at 1440p or 4k, you should be fine. If you decide to upgrade your CPU, then the 4770(k), 4790(k) will be the best (cheapest and easiest) upgrade.
