For God's sake this is 2011 !
Optimize the website for 1920x1080 as most ppl who surf this kind of website has full HD monitors.... OR maybe have auto optimization of the resolution as per user detected monitor.

Dont like it at ALL!

Id rate the original at 8/10
This one 2/10
Anandtech and fudzilla are decently laid out 7/10

SIMPLIFY the MAIN page.

I'll leave it at that, but no I dont like it.

Okay, I changed my mind a few times. Now that I figured out how the layout works, I think I actually kind of like it. Not bad, at least. There's the choice to look at content in a simple way with the picture scroller thing but if I want it in a more sophisticated way, I just go to the Articles tab at the top. It works.

The old, old layout was better. If you must change then please keep the news in the middle. I check Tom's every day and since it changes the most it's what I (and I suspect many) look at first.

Might have a mobile marktet of interest in mind to say, but i dont get even then how that would benefit from the change against the interest of how and why against what was.

Think that has come and gone time or too, for website design interests. Probably still does. But you'd think for the idea of it they'd have seperate services to be honest.

I'd rather have the option of going back to the old style. I don't care for the new look. If you stay with this look, please allow an option to go back to the CLASSIC style!!

i have a 1920x1200 monitor,
for toms page, i zoom in to the point the square flash ad on the far right is not visible

for me i would prefer the news to be swapped with he vender voice and top stories, as thats more like how the older layout looked to me.

but really, i'm of the idea if its not broke dont fix it, and the old layout wasn't close to broke.

I have to say that I don't like it. Sorry, guys - it looks real nice, but I just can't get used to it. The original layout is what I'm used to seeing, and this just seems crowded compared to it. Just my $0.02.

For me it looks more like a page of a forum, than a page of a hardware magazine. The forum, as important it may be, but isn't it a hardware magazine after all, yet? There was a time when gaming articles took over this site. Then they was separated. Which I liked. But that's me ofcourse, I am not so much of a gamer. But anyway - this is a hardware magazine. And now I barely notice any hardware related stuff on the front page. There is the forum - biggest part, larger font size, there are news - also a big part, although I love to read them time to time but mostly not hardware related. I barely notice there the featured articles - It's small and shy in the right half size column. And the other hardware related theme groups are completely gone, not even a row for an entire group, not a trace. So, is it a hardware magazine, or I am completely wrong? B.t.w. are you going to change the name of the site from tom's hardware to something else?
What I like is the line with the charts :) I think it should be completed to a full line.

The New version is awfull! The layout with the latest article next to the latest news was far easier to find things. Is the new layout simply a way to increase ad revenues with larger ads? I may have to start using some sort of ad block; though I don't because I don't want to take revenue from a site I want to support.

i like the new one a lot more, it feels much more organised. Saying that, I would like the type on the news column to go down a point or two, it's too intruding on the eyes. It would also be more beneficial if you moved the Charts section above the Live Forum Feed, it gets too lost at the bottom and I know a lot of people come to Tom's for the Charts.

A graphic designers $0.02.

I think the Latest News section should be positioned so that I can see all of it right away without having to scroll down. Right now I see about half of it. I'm using a 1400x1050 screen. My browser window is not in full screen but it is big enough so that it takes up like 90% of the vertical pixels.

"Let us know what you think about this new version!" How many times do we tell newbies "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" Well congratulations, you tried to fix something that wasn't broken and you made it worse.

I am using Adblock add-on for my firefox browser and you missed the top line.
News section are a bit down for my screen 1280x1024.
Thank you by the way.

From the layout and appearance, it almost seems as though you want to stress news more than articles. Articles, after all, are the reason most of us visit here daily. What if you made the article photos at the top larger to give them more emphasis?

Yeah, I know that might mess up the symmetry or whatever but it's something to consider and not an insurmountable problem for the layout guy.

Don't like it, it looks more cluttered and less structured than before and makes it look like a less professional website.

Personally, I liked it best the old way, before all these betas started. I'm not a fan of changes to the layout, especially when my eyes are trained to look at a particular section of the page when it loads up (in the middle for headlines, for example) and now that's moved. It causes me great rage. Joking aside, ima kill somebody. Ok, that was a joke too, I promise. I have no problem with updating a site to keep it fresh, but why change the layout? Also, while the beta was going on there was an option to just view it the old way, why not keep that option available in perpetuity?

I like the old layout better; it was like looking at a newspaper, and the headings seemed to be more naturally placed. This new version also loads considerably slower when opening pages. That is not cool. At first, I thought it was my new RAM, but all other familiar websites simply fly. I mean, it's not bad enough to make me get my cutting-edge news of the world somewhere else after 12 loyal years, but it's still kinda stinky.
In a nutshell, though, do whatever ya want; I'll still keep comin' back. (Whip me, beat me, make me write bad checks...) (remember that, Chris? damn, I'm gettin' old).
