Question New install of Windows 10 could not find a driver for the motherboard's network adapter ?

PC Shut down randomly and when it came back up it had no internet (I am connected via Ethernet and it worked fine before), even though my other devices such as phones were still connected. I then reinstalled windows to no avail. I tried searching the internet for LAN drivers for my motherboard which is old (Foxconn H61MXV) and I couldn't find one for Windows 10, it didn't help that I couldn't access the official driver downloads as well. I have already ordered a USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter online to see if it works. I'm on my last legs but until then I would like to try out different methods and solutions, any help is appreciated.

This is really an old board. What are Hardware IDs for missing LAN adapter?

2nd gen Intel should be well within the support window for drivers on 10. Are you sure that portion of the motherboard didn't "give up" on you?

I found this page in a quick search which lists a Realtek LAN driver, which is a very common driver. IDK if it will help.

AFAIK a Win 7 driver should still work for you, even on 10?

I'm not sure if this applies to you but I just used this driver via USB on a computer with no internet connection (ethernet cable was connected) downloaded 26.6 and run it.

Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows® 10

afterwards with internet connected, I just updated all the drivers. wish you luck sir

Try EasyDriver it has done all of mine on a Foxconn H61MXV board.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone knowledgeable here recommending use of auto driver software. It is always best to go to the manufacturer's website
