I want to get an RTX 2080 or 2080Ti and my current GPU is a GTX1080. I dont know too much about the way the GPU is connected to the motherboard but currently my motherboard is connected to my GPU over a x8 PCI-Express (Im not sure if I said that right).
The Link width is x8 and the PCI Version is PCI-Express.

I saw a RTX2080 that said it was "PCI-Express 3.0 x16" so I concluded that I would need a motherboard with PCI-Version "PCI-Express 3.0" and Link Width "x16". Is that right or can I just keep using my old Motherboard?

By the way do I also need to get more cables for the RTX2080? I dont think I have a modular PSU so I dont really remember how you connect extra cables to your PSU. Might just need to build a new computer with some of the same parts.

Solution
U dont need a new motherboard its fine... the psu will work but generally prebuilt doesnt have a good psu integrated... U can upgrade ur PSU... Rest no issues whatsoever... Ur motherboard supports pcie 3.0...
