MSI B150M PRO-VDH Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard is the motherboard I purchased last night and I thought I was all good until I read that it possibly will not support the i5-7500 CPU I have coming as well due to needing a BIOs update first.

This is my first time building a CPU and this was the only possibly compatibility issue I missed. Am I going to be screwed? Is there a way to update it? Will it maybe already be updated to support the CPU as the MSI website says it will with the update?

Solution
the msi b250m pro-vdh is the same thing, just the updated version. i would go ahead and change to that to be on the safe side. only $10 more
If you bought fresh stock, you are likely ok.
The enabling bios was issued 11/03/2016.

In the event that you get a motherboard that needs a bios update, you will need to borrow an older gen cpu to do the update.
A local cpu repair shop should not charge you much for the service.

to be honest... it's likely you will need to update the bios. it seems most people who get them don't have the updated bios, still to this day. probably because retailers buy them in such bulk, the ones they have in their warehouse have been there for awhile. you will spend a little more, but it might be worth not opening and returning it for a b250 board to avoid return complications. it's what I would do, save the VERY LIKELY headache of opening it and finding that you just have to do this anyways.

I am unsure if it us fresh stock sadly as I think it is coming from Amazon. Is tgere anyway to tell befire attempting to apply the cpu too it?

when you get the package, there should be a sticker on the outside of the motherboard box with the serial number. call the manufacturers support hotline and ask them, giving them the serial number. do not open the motherboard unless they confirm that you're good

Currently my order has yet to be shipped and I can still cancel items on it. Should I cancel the Motherboard and get one that automatically supports it? I paid about 115 for it, is there something better suited?
