Hey gang i am building a new Intel build and I have a few questions. I have the old aging Comos 1000 I need help with what size power supply to get as in SIZE. This case is pretty big but doesn't fit those massive power supplies at all. I need like a good Crossfire/sli 1000w psu that will fit in the Comos 1000.

Next up is I am really unsure which way to go with Intel, i will have a budget of 3000$- 3500$. This build will have to be a hardcore gamer build and sadly as huge as my tower is it will have to be at max an sli or crossfire build as well. With all that said do i go with LGA 2011 Or LGA 1155. I do Web design on the side so the extra horse power of a 3930 would be nice. So what I need is a list of the very best within my budget of Motherboards for both sockets, Ram, PSU, CPU, and maybe even the best case for all this stuff if i can get it all into my Budget. Oh yeah and best Video cards for gaming if again they fit into my budget.

I really do not know much between the 7970 cards and the 680's. I don't care about Benchmarks just which ever is going to give me a lot of bang for the buck and also be budget friendly.

Solution

If you want to build in the next 1 month and overclock without heat issues, please go for Sandy Bridge.

CPU is i7 3930K
Mobo: Asus P9X79 Pro
GPUs: GTX 680 (when in stock)
RAM: G.Skills Ripjaws Z 8 GB but you may go for 16 GB if you are going to do a lot of design, video, photos.
PSU: Seasonic X750
HDD: seagate 3tb 7200rpm hdd
SSD: Samsung 830 SSD
Optical Drive: Your choice (LG)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 or Corsair H100.
Case: Plenty to choose from.

Intel has acknowledged that Ivy Bridge heat issues when overclocking. I think they would address it by probably changing their thermal packaging. If you do not want to build in the next 1 month, I would recommend the IVY Bridge as it is the latest top of the link CPU.

CPU would be i7 3770K
Mobo: ASROCK Z77 extreme 6....
