So I have an HDD with Windows 10 already on it and I just got a 500gb SSD today.

What I would like to do it COMPLETELY wipe my HDD and reload windows onto my SSD and just have a fresh start.

However I have never dealt with 2 storage drives at the same time so I am at a complete loss. I have googled and YouTube’s 100x and it seems like literately everyone has a different way of doing it.

The Windows 10 setting/recovery option that allows for that seems to just reinstall Win10 automatically into the same drive it was on previously.

I do have a Win7 64-bit disk and key from when I originally built the PC about 1-2 years ago.

Go here and use the Microsoft Tool to download and create the install Media.

Once that is done shut down your system and unplug the SATA from the old drive.

Put in the new drive and hook it up.

Put the flash drive in with Windows 10 you just made.

Start the PC and boot from the flash drive, should do it automatically.

Install Windows 10.

Once that is done shut it back down and plug in the old drive, start it back up and go into Disk Management and delete the partitions on the old drive and create new ones and format.
