Thanks for the reply Proximon. I actually thought I had chosen that exact combo but now that you bring it up and I'm looking at my newegg wishlist it is actually separated out. I'll have to see if i can fix that before I order. Thanks again!

I'm logged into newegg and have everything in the cart as I type but I'll hold off for a little bit lol....do you mean to look at those cards and run 2 560 TI's and or 2 6950's? Or will one of either of those cards out perform the 2 460's

theres no reason you shouldnt be able to fit in atleast two 560tis.

i just dont like recommending people getting 2 lower end card sli because now you have no room for an upgrade from two low end cards. maybe consider a 570 now and another later?

Thanks cb, I only have the 2 460's in the build because I tried to combine what I liked from the Toms Hardware 1k build and the maxpc BF3 build trying to keep my build under $1400. If i go with 2 560ti's im going to have a little explaining to do with the wife and even more if I come back next month and ask for another card :pfff: . I don't think space is going to be an issue with the mobo and case I have but if I'm wrong let me know. I'm not opposed to having one card, I'm not dead set on SLI I just thought it would be cool.

just saying that two 460's are slow compared to new 5xx series cards and when you buy 2 you leave no options for an upgrade so your shooting yourself in the foot.

i would spend MY money on ATLEAST a single 560ti if not 2 560ti's ideal a single 570 with another in the future. if you wanted you could fit 570s in for under 1400.

You said your purchase date was before 12/20, so I thought it was not yet.

A pair of GTX 460s, heavily overclocked, is not a bad purchase for that price.

However, if I were buying right now and wanted an up-front bang for the buck that needed to last me for a while because the wife isn't going to go for more in a couple months? I would do it differently.

I would get a single 6970 for the same price. Here is a comparison in BF3 MP, showing how it does as well as a GTX 580
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/11/22/battlefield_3_multiplayer_performance_iq_review/3

I would get this one:

Actually less than you would pay for the two GTX 460s.

That get's you 2GB of GPU memory also, as opposed to 1GB with GTX 460 SLI.

Proximon and cbrunnem,
Thank you both for your suggestions, it was much appreciated. I got the MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III PE/OC GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card and may get another later on.

Once again Thanks!
