New tech on horizon?

Is there anything new coming out that will close the gap between the performance LCD's and CRT's? LCD's have come along way in the last year, considerably lowering responce time, improving contrast and brightness, not to mention the great decrease in price. I am just wondering if anything is coming out in the near future that would make me regret ordering a Compaq 7020 or VG191 now. I am ordering it tomorrow unless I find something that would be worth waiting for. thanks

FFD LCD screens have a faster responce time. However thanks to the folks at Mitsubishi it wont be coming out until next year. Previously they said 1st quarter of 2002.
