New thermal paste re-using AIO cooler

I'm planning on taking my AIO water cooler with pre applied thermal paste out of my current system and putting it into a new one, would the original pre applied paste still work, or would I have to apply it new for the coolers second use?

always clean and reapply thermal paste. otherwise you run the risk of gaps and air bubbles
