Hp Envy x360 laptop
Ryzen 7
8 GB installed ram 2x 4gb single rank ran ( I think. )
Trying to upgrade one of the sticks to a 8 GB dual rank ram stick
Computer turns on and asks for bitlocker key or hit ESC for more options. Both options end up with BSoD. Do I need to upgrade both slots,? Best buy claimed purchased PNY ram was compatible
I run sims so current setup is @ 97% capacity on startup alone
Any ideas?

I wouldn't assume BB wouldn't just say its compatible just to make the sale.
Seeing as how PNY does not have any compatibility lists and only has 2 laptop ddr4 sticks of ram available, I would return this and order something guaranteed to work.; which would probably entail replacing both sticks.

I hope the BSoD's didn't corrupt your encrypted drive.

Whats the full model# of the x360?

ENVY x360 15m-ds0023dx
After replacing the pny with the original ram everything operates as normal. Hard drive is still encrypted and hasn't lost anything. I believe it supports up to 32 gb according to BB. I saw 16 gb online. I need to get atleast 8 gb available for use before sim is open. Currently there is about 5.5 gb. Suggestions on ram?
