Ah yes, here's the rest of the displeasure about the new forum live feed. I get about 95% of the non moderator issue threads I respond to off there and have since I started posting here in early 2009. Don't make it go away 🙁

We are almost assuredly going to bring back the pagination under the forum live feed!

And we can confirm that the live feed on the beta page is currently bugged. We didn't intend to change anything there, but it looks like it's currently showing latest responses to threads, rather than just newest threads. Will get that fixed!

In a word: "Fugly."

Seriously, my eyes are bleeding. Seems like someone decided to "make it look cool" and didn't bother to worry about functionality. So much wasted real estate on the page. So difficult to recognize what content I might want to look at. Font, color, design decisions from hell... The list of things wrong with this go on and on. Yes, the old design was boring. Yes, the old design had its own functionality flaws. No, the way to fix those problems is not to make them worse...

I can't see myself continuing to use this site as my first go-to if this is the way it's going to be organized going forward.

This is the New Coke of tech websites.

I don't mind the latest news, latest reviews, or top stories so much, but the friggin forum side needs to be changed back to what it was.

Albeit, I do agree the font on those other areas can be smaller to reduce the space.

Just my honest opinion.

The forum live feed needs to go back to the way it was, I really dislike this new version seems far less functional at least to me. Does it bring any post that is commented on to the top? All I ever used was the live feed to answer questions and this new version seems to be a whole lot worse than it was at least in my opinion.

Good. I should have added that rotating listing was the only way I interact with the help forums. I like it's super condensed "get to the point" nature.

Oh okay great, sorry missed that.

Ok I wondered what was going on. Didn't see any announcement about the change. But now it went back to the old style which was equally shocking!

I agree with the others though, the forum feed was a bit weird but since it is being fixed there is no need to complain about it. Other than that it was OK on my desktop, I never maximize my browser window though so I can't say for sure what it looks like at greater than about 1920x1080 (desktop res 1440p).

I much prefer the old version since I could actually see individual articles on the front page. EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION - by "see" I mean actually know at a glance what the article is actually about instead of an extremely general "Power Supply" or "Cooling" which is distracting and not helpful to me.

And using it on my Android phone with Chrome (in Desktop mode as I always do) it is just God awful. It was so bad/frustrating that I just don't visit anymore on my phone. EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION - The font is too big, the blocks for articles are too big, the blocks for the sections are too big. Maybe I won't be able to use the full desktop mode anymore, but it was really nice with the old version to be able to easily read article headlines in a single, continuous block that I could zoom in on and read easily.

Please don't fix the font color of the "Latest news" section!!!!!🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

No matter the news was read or not, the font is always in black. In the past, I can know which news was read and which was not by just looking at the font color. But now, I have to look at the detail and remember which is read so that I don't have to read again.

Might I suggest making the red font for the front page article subsections a little smaller? As it stands, the red font is the same size as the article title and draws my eyes away - just a bit distracting, but not nearly as bad as it was before.

Edit - or perhaps offset it to the right a bit.

Typing in #v=current does nothing for me (google chrome). Is there some way to opt out of the beta? The thing I enjoy about toms is being able to scroll through the latest threads and help out and while the forum live feed it broken in beta I am unable to do that and the only way to get back to normal is clear my cache. This solution only works for a little while before I have to go and clear it again.

The forum live feed is currently bugged. That will be fixed before we roll out any new iterations of the page.

In the meantime, you can always use www.tomshardware.co.uk; this is more or less the same exact site, with a couple of UK-specific elements, but you will not encounter the beta on the UK site. The old, working forum live feed should still be present there.

i'm seeing a new homepage today. it's a mix of the old and the beta we saw. is this the final change or is it another test? or am i just crazy and seeing things?

took me a few to realize something was different. it's a nice mix of the old and new if it is a final product. looks good to me :)

You're just crazy and seeing things.
