New User HELP!!!! Part 2

I went to dell and downloaded the driver for my modem. When I tried to open
it, the little hourglass on my pointer would come up, but the file would
never begin to install. So, I then went to the manufacturer of the chipset
for the modem (Conexant -for the life of me I can't figure out who actually
manufactured this modem) and downloaded the same driver, only this time when
I opened the file, it would try to begin installation. It seemed like it was
trying to load up the file, and then about a minute later I would get an
error message that said: "Driver Installation Failed: could not find the
MODEM device for this driver" Did I download the wrong driver? They only
had a few to choose from, and being the novice that I am, I picked one of the
two 56K Modems - the others were either cable, or something else that i
didn't understand. Should I download the other driver listed and see if that
one works? Help! Thanks -

Visit http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
and type in your Dell Service Tag Number and you'll be able to download all the correct
modem drivers designed for your Dell computer. You must uninstall the current modem
drivers before installing the new ones. Look in the Add or Remove Programs applet
in your Control panel for your current modem drivers to uninstall.
