I have 2x2gb PC 8500 DDR@ sticks (1066 MHz)

Can I OC my E8500 (333*9.5) to say 400*9.5 (ie. 3.8 GHz) without touching my DRAM settings? Since my memory is 1066 MHz I have plenty of room and the memory should handle it fine in a 1:1 setup? (400*8 = 800 MHz and my mem supports 1066 MHz)

In this scenario, all I have to do is make sure my memory settings/Tmings are set correctly to manufacturer (I have the CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Manufacturer tested at 5-5-5-15 2T at 2.1 v 1066 MHz)

If that is correct, and if I wanted to mess with the DRAM to get tighter timings, then would it make sense to lower the timings to see how things play?

Thanks

If you download and run CPUZ and click the SPD tab you will find several different settings for your memory, some JEDEC settings and some EPP settings. Here is an example from my memory which was sold as DDR2 800 4-4-3-10
