Hi,
I have spent the past 3 days going through various discussion threads with the similar problems to mine. However, I cannot still decide the build that will best suite me.
This is my first desktop build. Currently operate off a AMD turion laptop. So hoping for the best.
APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: End of the month
BUDGET RANGE: $1000 - 1100
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming (typically RTS games; Internet)
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: speakers, OS (Have win 7 ultimate)
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA
PARTS PREFERENCES: Intel or AMD. ( I have gone over many articles comparing i5 750 vs an AMD X4, cannot decide if the i5 is worth the extra cash)
OVERCLOCKING: No
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Not at present
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1200
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I have a Yamaha amplifier with 5.1 paradigm speakers that I want to connect to my desktop so having a co-axial or optical out will be helpful.
The following are recommended components based on the other threads that I have read:
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231321
Case: HAF 922 / Antec illusion http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.334086
HDD: Samsung spinpoint F3
Thermal compound : Is it really needed??
Please help!!
Thanks
