newegg no oem cpu?

Noticed on newegg that there are almost no oem/cpu only selections in the amd section. Did Newegg stop selling oem cpus. I see only retail box sets for the new venice cores.
Anybody else notice or know whats up?

Amd lists all A64 chips as PIB. I suspect that trays are not generally available.

I always buy retail for the warranty, which is comforting when I'm popping the thing in and out of 100 motherboards a couple times each, and doing all the abusive things I do when reviewing those boards.

Also, looking at newegg's prices on their retail chips they're not much more, if any from the OEM's, so why not? Unless of course you're really pinching pennies and the extra $2.00 s&h for the bigger retail package is concerning you :tongue:

Maybe they get pissed off about stupid people buying OEM cpu, putting them in their motherboard without any HSF and then RMA the whole thing because it is not working...
