Hey everyone I had a Q for anyone using a gigabyte k8ns 939 ultra, or anyone with a Nf3u chipset for that matter, does the ram clock run sync or async with the mem? because Im havin a heck of a time ocing some pc3200 any higher than 9x209. If the fsb and the mem clocks are seperate, I have yet to find how to make them run that way, Im pretty sure its my mem holdin me back its pqi turbo series 2.5-3-3-7 thanks

Ram is always in an easy ratio, like 1:1, 2:3, 3:4, or 4:5. It always changes speed with the CPU bus. If you want to clock your RAM slower than 209 and your CPU faster than 209, you'll have to change that ratio. Most newer boards refer to it by the base speed, your choice would probably be to drop it from 400 to 333 and overclock it upwards with the CPU bus from there.

But I can't see why you'd want to slow the RAM down, can't you raise the multiplier?

The multi is locked at 9 on my 64 3000 (9x200) and as far as i can find in the bios there is no option to seperate the clock revision F4 on the gigabyte board. Is there a way to unlock the a64's?

Well, thanks for that info (after your post I actually read the manual, and it had how to get into adv opts, just like you said) anyways, I have no clue what the problem is, its not the ram, i limited it to run at 333, and still cant breach the 209fsb mark. maybe I got "lucky" with a chip that doesnt oc well. Thanks for your help anyhow!
