nic slows boot up

I just installed nic for use with dsl, the reboot process is VERY slow i finally reboot but takes way to long. are there some network settings i could change to help speed this process up. Thanks

card plugged in and working after win 98se boots up i can use internet.. it's just the booting up or restarting that takes way to long..

Assign a static ip adress to your nic(ex:169.254.134.1). The slowdown is because your card is waiting for a DHCP(that dont exist in your case) to lease an adress.
