Question No image after windows update

So, I used windows' update tool to update to the latest version since the windows update button on settings doesn't work (says im on the latest when im not). After the reboot, the windows logo with the loading icon comes up, then blank screen. The num key works and so does caps lock. If I reboot the pc again it just goes back to the old version and doesn't update. Please help

If you google windows update tool, there's a tool microsoft made called "windows 10 update assistant" that helps update pcs that can't update.
The windows update button is the one that you can find in the settings in windows.

That is for the newer versions of Windows 10, not cumulative updates aka monthly updates

I would try a windows recovery disc to see if it can be recovered
