No Performance and Maintenance Icon XP

Hello,
I am trying to uninstall and reinstall sound, I have windows XP the hardware troubleshooter has me opening device manager in performance and Maintenance in the control panel and I do not have it.

Performance and Maintenance doesn't appear if you're using Classic View in
the Control Panel
