No RAM, No beeps

I've built a PC but I don't have the RAM. I plugged in the motherboard speaker and pressed the power button but I didn't hear anything. I then checked the headers and where I put the speaker, everything was placed correctly and I was sure that the speaker was in the JFP2 pins. I'm about to take it to a repair shop and see if they can see if the motherboard is fried but decided to check if someone could help here. Is it fried?
My motherboard is the MSI B250M Pro-VD

Have you connected the 8 pin power cable to the motherboard?

If the CPU fan does spin and no beeps without RAMs, then board, or CPU are defective. I'd RMA them both.

Nothing happens when I press the power button. No fan spins, no motherboard light, nothing. Should I jump the motherboard and see if that works?

See if a fan connected to it does spin.
If it does, try testing the board outside the case, for ruling out a short.
