Question No signal on monitors, still have audio before PC finally reboots itself

I’ve recently had this issue crop up when I play a graphically intensive or poorly optimised game whereby my monitors will go black and so no signal yet i continue to hear the audio of whatever i was playing. It’ll stay like that for a minute or two before rebooting itself.

I tried to google the issue but i can’t seem to nail down a fix.

I used HWinfo to monitor my sensors when it happened and, If i’m reading the log file correctly, my gpu was around 70-80 degrees and my cpu peaked to 66 at its highest.

I’ve tried fiddling around with my power options but the problem persists.

My current rig is as follows:
i7-9700k
3060Ti
32GB ram
750 PSU

I run one 1440p monitor as my main and a secondary 1080p monitor, both plugged into my GPU

Not really sure what else to add but if any further info helps diagnose my issue let me know :)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

750 PSU
750W is the advertised wattage of the unit. What is the make, model and age of the unit?

What sort of temps do you see for your processor and GPU when you experience the black screen issue? How are you cooling the processor? Make and model of the case?

hey, thanks!

It’s a Corsair 750W Enthusiast Series RM750X PSU, Fluid Dynamic Fan, Fully Modular, 80+ Gold PSU was bought June last year.

I’ve only monitored temps once when it’s happened and my GPU gets to around 80 at its max but stays around 70-80 when gaming. and the CPU peaked to 66 just as it happened but is usually lower than that.

I just have a cooling master cooler on the cpu, it’s pretty old but given my cpu isn’t too hot i haven’t considered replacing it? Not even sure on the model of it.

Case is a Phanteks Eclipse P400 Midi tower

Update on this. I turned my second monitor off for a few gaming sessions and the issue didn't happen. So then I changed out the HDMI I was using for my second monitor and plugged it in with a new cable and again, I'm not getting the issue. I'm assuming the HDMI I was using for my second monitor was causing the issue somehow. I use displayport for my main monitor for what it's worth.
