I have just put together my build outside the case, when I booted up the first time no splash screen or video output of any kind will show on my monitor. I have the DVI cable from my motherboard to my monitor and it doesn't detect anything when I turn it on. the fans do start to turn for the coolers and the LEDs turn on as well for the GPU and Ram slots

parts
ryzen 7 2700x
GTX 2070 super
msi x470 gaming plus max
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3600
WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB Internal PC SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s,

Also, I have now triple checked that all cables are plugged in correctly

Solution
The ports on the motherboard only work when using an APU the 2700x is not an apu so the video ports on the board are useless. You need to have the gpu installed and the monitor plugged into the gpu not the motherboard.
