No Video

i get sound on my videos but no video. I know i have the
correct codecs installed i need to know what else would
cause this. i have used a fourCC codec finder and it says i
have the right ones installed but it still wont play the
video part of the files. PLEASE HELP

file types affected are not only avi's but wmv's asf's and
mpg's as well

What are you watching them in?
Is the player displayed on the primary moniotr, as video overlay is
generally not supported on secondary monitors.
