No WiFi internet access after bridge attempt

Hello all,

I've just started a new job recently and I've been hooked up to the wired internet connection at my workplace.

They don't have any WiFi so I thought I'd bridge my WiFi adapter and wired adapter to try and connect to the internet on my phone.

It didn't work and worst of all, when I came home my laptop could no longer connect to the internet via my home WiFi connection.

I'm pretty sure the problem occured as a result of bridging because when I brought my laptop home from work after my first day of being connected to their internet, everything was fine.

I'm running Windows 10 and I've already tried the simple stuff (rebooting the laptop, forgetting and rediscovering my connection, resetting the router etc.) but I'm still stuck.

My laptop says I have internet access on this connection but I can't reach any websites.

Most employers disallow "rogue" WIFI because it is a big security hole. Verify with your employer that what you want is permitted. Breaking the computer is one thing, being fired is another.

They said nothing of it when they hooked me up so I don't think there's​ a problem.

Silence is NOT golden IMO. Ask for permission, if you want to keep your job.

Sorted it myself, ended up just being a matter of unticking the proxy box in the proxy settings.
