nocd patches dont work

trying to get this to work on laptop so i dont have to lug cd's around
with me, but no luck, i have tried 3 different ones, but every time it
still asks for the cd :(
please help

I had the same problem. The only thing I could do that worked was use
the Alcohol 120% software and make an image of the game. The you can set
it up to auto mount the image at boot. You must have the latest patch
for this to work also.

If for some reason that doesn't work right off hte bat, check the
registry to see if the game paths are pointing to the virtual drive and
not the physical drive.

Oh, and this is for Jedi Academy. I haven't done this for any other
games. Please reply to this message if it works so that anyone else who
has this problem knows if it works.

the latest patch of what? alcohol or jedi knight? i tried mounting it
with daemon tools, and that didnt work ¬_¬
ill try it with a new patch of JA

I think you might need to create the CD image first, mount it then install
the game from the virtual drive.
IIRC the no-cd patch from Gamecopyworld worked, but I never actually got
around to playing JA. Installed it and configured it - just never stated it.
Moved it to make space after a HDD failure and haven't been back since.
