Noisy phone?

A friend of mine has just got a wireless router for his broadband connection on his PC & X-box 360, but since he has started using it he has had a crackling noise on his telephone (cordless). Does anyone know what could be causing this problem & how my friend could fix it? Cheers guys.

It's <possible> the router is interfering w/ the phone. Wireless b/g routers operate on the 2.4Ghz band and so do a lot of cordless phones. He can try changing the operating frequency in the router. My linksys for example can operated on 10 different frequencies... I have to rotate them often because other 2.4Ghz devices in my neighborhood often interfere w/ my router (I get really low connection speeds like 2-5Mbps).
