Hi. I was given a awesome hp probook 4330s. The windowd code sticker is found inside the battery case and a win 7/celeron sticker on front. I booted up to what says win ultimate non genuine editiion. Keeps wanting me to activate?? I tried the code that is found on machine/original.. It will not accept.. All the drivers are missing. It seems the bios has been takin over because even as admin i cannot change settings. I could be seeing things from all this confusion unknown to me but it seemed to have changed to work group and has many users on a network. But i cannot get online. Many other strange things going on. Secret default owner? I just want to get the original copy back and update this wonderful notebook. The recovery partion and restore go back is no were to be found. Plz help me sorry for long text

Solution
Sounds like a machine purchased by a company for network use and locked down so the user cannot make changes. The machine is configured to log into a network and run off a server.

You will have to talk to HP for help with this as we cannot verify that this is not a stolen machine, which considering how it remains locked down and has a likely pirated copy of windows, it sounds like it is. When a company sells or gives away a computer they usually wipe the drive and remove lockouts/passwords, which obviously was not done here.
1. The license key on the laptop is probably not for Windows 7 Ultimate.
2. That Ultimate may well be a pirated, or otherwise illicit, install.
3. For any used PC, the first step should be a clean install of the OS and any applications you want/use.

I think laptops wont come with ultimate edition your laptop comes with a windows 7 pro edtion not ultimate i think the seller cheated you ask to him 😀 thsi is your lap
HP ProBook 4330s - 13.3" - Core i3 2310M - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit - 4 GB RAM - 320 GB HDD
and u may also restore to factory using the hp recoery manager while booting
If u are not bought it fress Get a new copy of windows from market and install it 😀

No, you install a fresh legal copy on it.

Closing this before anyone earns themselves a ban in here.
