Noob overclock questions

Would like to overclock my system a bit, but I'm a complete rookie. Here's what I have: Velocity Micro 2215 PC with Intel Dual core 6600 at 2.4 Ghz, 4096 kb cache RAM, mobo is Asus P5N-E, 4 Gb RAM, Phoenix-AwardBIOS. Is it possible to tweak the processor speed up to 3 Ghz or so? I've scrolled through the BIOS screens and really don't know what I'm looking at! Any advice is appreciated....
