right here i go,
i just got my q6600 C2D and asus p5n-d mobo. i opted for this chip as most people say it can oc to 3gig easy which is what i want. after a few days of trying and getting no where and following numerous threads i am having to ask if any 1 can give me the best way to do this.

my system is as follows:
Q6600
asus p5n-d bios version 0601 and tried updating to 0801 but still no difference
4*1024 pc8500 (1066mhz) running at 800 i think 5-5-5-15 timings
evga 8800gts 512 OC
psu came with pc from mesh and is 550W
vista 32 bit

i also have noticed that when i go in to the bios and go to my fsb settings i click it to unliked or linked but as soon as i save the changes and reload up the bios its went back to auto settings i have some custom voltages gion through which other people with the chips set to 3gig+ use and mine seens stable enough with them its just my fsb doesnt seem to want to OC my cpu.

any more info required just ask thanks alot hope some 1 can help me

cheers

also i am reading alot of guys with a vid? i have got mine off of PC wizard and says 1.326V on the box the q6600 came in its got 1.35Vmax also like to add its a SLACR on the box and from cpu-z it says stepping - B and revision - G0 if this helps any 1?
cheers

well its at 1.40625 i ran that prime95 and it went for like 2 mins and BSOD,
so as i am new how do i know what to do from here?
also is there any other way where to find out a VID? just incase i got it wrong somewhere, its meant to be 1 of the new cpu's which are energy efficient i think

cheers
