Hi All,

Just curious on my idle temp, my cpu is R3 1200 running at stock speed and cooler, an Asrock B350m mobo, RX 580 Nitro+, and 6 Case Fans.

I wonder if my idle temp is quite high as shown above? understand the general idle temps for R3 1200 at stock is around 35-38 C and given my stock voltage set to auto so it's very low as shown above

However when running full load (AAA gaming such as Farcry 5, The division at high 1080p) the max temps only reach 65-68ish max occasionally hit 70.

Should i worry on the idle temps? does the thermal paste not sufficient when installing? because i didn't apply additional paste when installing the HSF on CPU, i just use the pre-applied paste by AMD.

Thank you in advance

Your idle temps are fine. I have a Ryzen 1700X and a corsair H100i V2 liquid cooler and I hover in the 35-40C range when idling.

I believe this is due to how Ryzen measures temperature, since with Ryzen we don't have the ability to measure per core temps like Intel, only the package itself. Generally the package is a few degrees hotter than the CPU cores themselves.

Still anything under 40C is fine for an idle temp.

Your load temps are fine aswell, pretty normal for a Wraith Stealth I believe.

If you are really concerned with temps, you can always try repasting the CPU with Arctic Silver MX4 or something like that.

You may see a few degree difference with different thermal paste. What is ur room temperature? Cooler the room the cooler yoyr oc will run. My fx 9590 runs around 30-40 idle and underload 50-65. What is your airflow setup with fans? Drop from high graphics to low and see the temps then. I noticed with my amd gpu it causes a lot of the heat on my system with temps from 60 to 70. I am also running 8 fans.

My room temp average is 28 C, the fans setup is 3x at front blowing cool air from outside PC to the inside, 2x on top and 1x on the back all 120mm fans sucking the hot air out of the case.

As i mention my CPU temp during load/gaming is actually pretty nice at only 65-68 Celcius Max. But at idle it's on the 42-42 degree average

To answer your question these temps look normal. I have the same fan setup as you. Except i have one at the bottom pulling in cool air. There is nothing to worry about at this point. If anything you can upgrade fans to high industrial and see if that makes a difference if you are really concerned. But for now.. Nothing looks crazy. I have to put the AC on in the winter to asisst in cooling my pc lol
