Normal temp Furmark GPU

I have the XFX Double D HD 6870 and I just oc'd it to 1000 MHz and Memory Clock set at default to 1050 MHz.
I'm wondering what is the normal temperature for that?
I get max 65 degrees celsius running the fan at 53% max.
^^Is that normal?

Also, another question... how do you oc above that?

ht4u.net reached 74°C while running Furmark during their XFX Radeon HD 6870 2 GB GDDR5 with DD-Cooler (HD-687A-CDFC) review.

During gaming it reached 66°C.

When I'm using my 6950 with the reference cooler and running Furmark I usually get about 74-75C. When gaming I get like 69-70.

Your temps are fine.

Lowered it to 985/1200 MHz because BF3 was crashing a lot .
Temp while running the game reaches ~55 degrees celsius.
Furmark reaches temps about 65 average.

GPU temps below 90 degrees centigrade are safe. 65 under furmark would be considered exceptional for a top end card even at stock settings. If you're crashing it's because your core voltage is too low, not because its running too hot.

Catayst Control Center is the worst tool for overclocking, but it's also the safest. The best one to use is MSI Afterburner. It gives you fine grained control over the core clock, memory clock, core voltage, memory voltage, temperature based fan control (which is awesome), detailed monitoring, etc... You will have to unlock the voltage control from the settings menu but be warned, increasing the voltage will cause the peak temperature to rise FAST so be careful.

yea for some reason I get 90C+ when I run furmark on the default clock. Really worries me. Any ideas?
