Installing AMD Ryzen 2700x CPU into motherboard MSI AMD x470. When placing CPU into socket and placing latch down, the CPU seems to shift and doesn't hold it in. When I attempted to place the Heatsink on top thinking it was used to hold the CPU in place instead, I attached it wrong and went to take it off only to find that the CPU was stuck to the bottom of it.

I don't understand the specifics of how to install this CPU, even following the instructions and the video provided.

Solution
Your doing it correctly make sure cpu is in the socket do not try to move it about because it could caurse damanged to motherboard pins and lift down the metel thing place pea size paste on cpu and carefuly place cooler ontop!. Before you do this you need co clean the cpu and cooler again and also check motherboard pins to see if there any damage !

1st Place CPU dont hold it down make sure it tight and try not to move it!
2nd Lift Down Holder
3rd Pea Size Paste
4th Attach Cooler

Try watch this vid know its not same motherboard but atleast it shows how to place cpu in
