Clock for clock the ati performs better than the nvidia. It's frustrating since physx is on the Nvidia only and who knows how much faster the clock of the nvidia has to be for it to be better than the ati.

I have an ati 3850 and the games run smoothley except mirrors edge with physx on. The card was 1 Gb and was overclocked to 550. I wanted to play mirrors edge smoothley with physx on so I baught the nvida gts 250 1 Gb. The game ran smoothley on the parts where the physx was intence but there was an overall decrease in performance. This dosn't make sence since the clock speed for the gts is 740 MHz which is more than 550 MHz. We can see that the ati card out performs the nvidia card even though the clock speed is 200 MHz less than the Nvidia. Why?

right.. well they are totaly different cards you just CANT compare those two on clock speed alone, if that was the case id still consider using my old pentium4.

also the overall loss is perofrmance is probably due to physix, it does put an extra strain on ur pc.

Quite correct we have a resident tame (ish) troll and dont need another one.

Look up the differant architectures on Google to find out the differances and why you just cant compare the two.
Maybe then if you want to come back and rephrase the question we could be of help.
Actually im in quite a generous mood, here you go, give the benefit of doubt first time. :)
