You have got to be kidding? AMD has been snowing people for years with false promises of fixes with driver updates and the whole dropped/runt frame expose last year revealed the issues had been ongoing for years. Seriously!?

Also, whose turn is it to fix all the mantle issues with BF4? AMD or DICE?

Don't forget the lack of support for "Deferred Context" in AMD drivers, which could be their excuse for coming up with Mantle in the first place.

typical nvidia trying to trick people into thinking the gains are amazing with that Thief chart. I was already calling bullshit at a seemingly 250% boost from original driver, then I noticed it was just 4fps. As for the Star Swarm chart, thats definitely some very stretched out theoretical gains. Your just not going to get a 25fps boost on your card via a driver optimization to an already well D3D optimized card.

Roll your neck in and learn to read, then you might understand the questions that are being asked and that you and other AMD fanatics refuse to face.

Nvidia driver support does help. Rise of the Triad and Bioshock Infinite both saw a 30% increase in fps when I updated my drivers. And I am currently still on a 560ti waiting for the 8 series to come out to upgrade my gpu.

lolololol Nvida is lieing so hard herefound this benchmark showing R9 290x with an I3 on mantle getting 61 with mantle and 56 without and that is on VERY HIGHlol nvidia get real and show some REAL becnhmark with uptodate drivers.my guess is they were using like a year old driver and modded a little to support R9 290x xDlink to site "http://www.techspot.com/review/793-thief-battlefield-4-mantle-performance/page3.html"

Wow! A whole 5 frames per sec! Lord above, how is anyone going to cope with that kind of speed!

in fact its more like 6 FPS and in % that would be about 10% dif now tell me thats nothing

It's nothing, happy now?

u dont seem to read my post (on VERY HIGH it gets 61 with mantle) nvida shows it running at (high) aka LOWER then the R9 290x got 61FPS on so you cant even compare lol

Step it up AMD! I expect a big D11 AND Mantle driver boost in the future as a response...
I could definitely see an AMD DX11 boost comin up in response. Bout time we start seeing competition fixing things that have been in the wild for years at this point.

As Nvidia can get that improvement with a driver update and the Nv haters think it's nothing then getting it with Mantle must also be nothing, fairs fair right?

Everything is relative: some enthusiasts feel justified when spending $50-100 on something that improves performance by 2-3% while others would not be bothered to spend any money on something that yields less than a 50% improvement unless they absolutely needed it.

Then you have the mainstream where people do not bother upgrading until improvements are closer to 100% if not more... or simply until their current system dies.

And Bulldozer and Piledriver were supposed to beat anything Intel had to offer. That was all truth?

Years of runt/dropped frames issues on single AMD graphics cards and crossfire setups, and now the promise of beta mantle really working and not failing mid-game... It all seems really compelling.

I guess that's what "value" is all about; the hope that one day things will work as expected = value?

I guess you get what you pay for.

Mantle is mostly about removing / reducing CPU bottlenecks, if the CPU can cope, there isn't much gains to be had. Most people are still running dual cores, try the comparison with those.
Actually, that "bottleneck" is mostly given by crappy AMD """APU"""s with their crappy "module" architecture and that's what Mantle is trying to address. Intel side really doesn't care from what I've seen.

Bottom line is I don't like DirectX. I don't like an API where Microsoft holds all the cards and ties it to their own platform. Proprietary is great for Microsoft and Nvidia, but bad for everyone else.
