A list of 1080 Founder's Edition Reviews.. There are 50 reviews in various languages and another 8 video reviews linked to.

In general the GTX 1080 beats the competition by the following:

at 1440p the 1080 beats the Titan X / 980 ti by about 27% and the 980 by abut 60%. The Fury X gets beaten by 43%, the fury by 50% and the 390x by 73%

at 4k the 1080 the Titan X / 980 ti is beaten by about 33%, and the 980 by 74%. AMD's Fury X loses by 43%, the Fury by 54% and the 390x by79%

1080 SLI benchmarks can be found over at Guru3D. OC3D has done a 1080 SLI review with the MSI Gaming X. Finally, TechSpot ran 1080 SLI review with the Palit GamerRock Premium Edition

In short, 1080 SLI seems to only be worthwhile for 4k gaming and is still very much in need of driver improvements.

Official GTX 1070 Product Page

List of available custom GTX 1070 cards with specs, prices and reviews where available.

A list of 1070 Founder's Edition Reviews. 20+ reviews and some video links

In general the GTX 1070 competes with the competition by the following:

At 1080p the 1070 was 18% slower than a 1080, 5% faster than a Titan X, 11% faster than a 980ti, 40% faster than a 980 and 64% faster than a 970. On the AMD side, it was faster than all by 31% for the Fury X, 40% for the Fury and 46% for the 390x.

At 1440p the 1070 was 20% slower than a 1080, 2% faster than a Titan X, 6% faster than a 980ti, 37% faster than a 980 and 64% faster than a 970!! It beat out all the AMD cards again by 21% for the Fury X, 30% for the Fury and 40% for the 390x

At 4k the 1070 was 20% slower than a 1080, 1% slower than a Titan X, 3% faster than a 980ti, 39% faster than a 980 and 79% better than a 970. for AMD it beat the Fury X by 11%, the Fury by 24% and the 390x by 35%

Guru 3D 1070 SLI review using 2 MSI Gaming X cards. Hexus.net also did a 1070 SLI review using the MSI Gaming x card

It will beat a GTX 1080 easily at most resolutions, however it sees negative scaling in some games at lower resolutions like 1080p.

=========================================================

3/1 update Nvidia announced the 1080ti card yesterday. Here is a write up from Tom's of what they said about it. Reference card is going to run $699. As we know custom cards will be less and more than likely worth waiting for. As always as custom models and reviews show up, I will add them to the ever growing list in the posts below. The first post will change to the 1080 ti models once we begin to see them. Guess we will see reviews of the FE and custom models starting next week if that is when the cards are supposed to be released.

=========================================================

I encourage and ask for any links that would be helpful to add to this post. Reviews, benchmarks, rumors (credible ones), models I may have missed and any other 10 series information you may find.

no information about that type stuff yet. hopefully come friday we will learn a lot more. but in the end until someone has hands on a card to test and benchmark, we won't know what it will be capable of. nvidia dismissed all the async stuff when AoS hit the web so they may not be bothered, but then again they may realize it would be a mistake and make sure it is covered.

Afaik the point of async compute was to increase gpu utilization. Maxwell might not need it because gpu utilization already good. Also in AMD case they need those async compute so they can access their ACE engine function. This ACE engine are not accessible in DX11. so the performance increase in radeon when async compute in DX12 can also attribute to ACE engine usage. In DX11 this ACE only sit idle doing nothing but keep using power on radeon. Still i imagine this feature might not used in most games. Even one the market only AMD sponsored title have use async compute (to my knowledge Quantum Break on pc did not use async compute).

The sub 75w part will be interesting for sure. currently the fastest sub 75w are those 950 without power connector. Performance wise they are not that slower than regular 950.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GTX_950/

There are talk that GP106 will be 75w only instead of sub 150w part like nvidia previous Gx106 chip.

it's hard to identify which models these are when looking at a site like partpicker. this is one thing i will work to keep straight with this thread. with the forum's help, i'd like to keep a list of each model available and it's power requirements to include connections needed and observed worse case power used when overclocking and torture testing. i'd like this to be a one stop shop for anyone wanting to research and compare the various gpu's and models available. reviews, benchmarks, whatever else comes along that is useful to someone researching these new cards.

the hard part is going to be something people ask about all the time but is hard to find numbers on. people always ask what older cards in sli would equal a newer card. so would 960's in sli be the new 1070 or what? these number can be hard to come by, especially for cards a couple gens old, but hopefully we can dig up something that is good enough to be useful.

the 980ti was June 2, 2015 for general release. don't know when the evga model hit the streets but this article http://wccftech.com/nvidia-aib-partners-prepare-huge-geforce-gtx-980-ti-nonreference-lineup-hybrid-triple-fan-cards-unveiled/ mentions it on May 31 so it must have planned all along.

It appears that this Friday's Pascal event also will be in conjunction with the first demo of Battlefield 5.
http://wccftech.com/nvidia-introduce-gtx-1080-gtx-1070-battlefield-5/

Interesting because this is yet another former AMD Gaming Evolved game that now is (may be) under the NVidia umbrella (Far Cry 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider).

And then there's this... The Order of 10:

For sure, I'm trying to figure out if the performance of the GTX 1080 (or whatever they're going to call it) would justify upgrading from my 760's in sli, so I guess one could say is a 980 ti (as it seems that the 1080 is supposed to offer roughly around the same performance as a 980 ti) better than two 760's? At least when it comes to 1440p? I would like to upgrade from 1080p to QHD, I just wonder how well my 760's would fair at that resolution with settings turned up.

And as I've learned I don't really want to have an sli setup again, I'd rather have a single high-end card.

http://wccftech.com/geforce-gtx-1080-gtx-1070-launching-6th-may-market-june/

I'm open to AMD as well but I suppose we'll have to wait for benchmarks for that, will get a free-sync 2k monitor or g-sync 2k monitor (after having g-sync, I will never have a monitor that doesn't feature advanced adaptive sync ever again) to go with whichever card (pascal or polaris) comes out on top overall

the "Order of 10" campaign is pretty neat. different way for nvidia to keep the tension alive before the launch. little bit of fun to keep folks busy before friday. nice one nvidia.

@opio, i sure hope to be able to add some sli numbers but that's probably going to take all of us to source them. there are a ton of sites out there and i can't possibly read them all. between us, however, we probably get them all read. so long as folks keep posting the valuable information, i'll keep updating the initial posts. i'll add whatever i run across of course but will have to rely on our awesome users to fill in the gaps 😀

and hopefully amd drops Polaris quickly so we can have good info to decide on new upgrades. i'm a bang for the buck buyer and whomever comes out on top gets to go into 2 new builds for my house later this year

for sure, I figure that two 760's probably give performance somewhere around a GTX 980, maybe a little less, for me it's all about being able to game at 1440p with high settings at around 80+ FPS, I'm sure that the GTX 1080 will be capable of a lot more. Plus also like I said, the setup I have now is the first sli setup I've ever had and I've realized I'd rather have a single flagship GPU than two mid-range cards in sli. But as I also said, if AMD comes out on top I will gladly go with polaris, I was planning on getting a new monitor anyway, it's just a matter of whether it will be a free-sync monitor or a g-sync monitor depending on which card I end up getting. It's nice to talk to another PC enthusiast that isn't a fanboy and lets the benchmarks and price-performance ratios speak for themselves :)

the spec hunters seem to feel that the 1080 will be better than a 980 ti and the 1070 would be better than a 980 is. following that logic, it would seem that a 1060 (ti?) would be similar to a current 970 and may even be under 75w power usage!! if nvidia prices things right, then this could be a very interesting upgrade and cause some serious price drops on maxwell cards to get them out of the system.

It just makes me wonder if the pascal cards being soft launched this week will have more than a 256 bit interface, would they be faster? I've always wondered in what situations a higher bit interface makes cards faster... all I know is that the Fury X had a 4096 bit interface and it was on par with the 980 ti and the 980 ti only had a 384 bit interface. I guess what I'm asking is this: What does the size of the interface have to do with how powerful the card is?

from what i have seen, especially in the case of the fury x, is that vram is mostly needed for high resolutions. the super fast hbm on the fury x let it's 4 gb of ram do a better job at 4k resolution than the 8 gb of the 980 ti. showing that the speed of the ram does have a big effect on performance. a ton of vram at lower resolutions makes little difference unless massive add-on texture packs and mod's are used.

there are 4 gb 960 cards but benchmarks show that once the resolution gets high enough for the 4 gb to be fully used, the gpu itself is already past the point of struggling and can't keep up. so the 4 gb is pretty much wasted on that card (again unless mod's are used in some games).

the new 1000 series will use some of the new GDDR5x memory which should be a good bit faster than regular GDDR5. i am going to assume that this extra speed and other performance increases will let the new 1080 outshine the 980 ti in 4k pretty easily. the fury x will probably be dethroned by it until amd releases it's new flagship.

in the end the super fast ram has the best benefit at the highest resolutions. this is probably why the lowere end cards are sticking with GDDR5 as it offers enough speed for the gpu it is paired with. well that and the cost of the latest, greatest ram would add a good bit to the price of these cards.
