You can't purchase anything that isn't founders edition, you can only pre-order 1 custom card i've seen so far which was on scan.co.uk and it was the stock 2 fan cooled EVGA GTX 1080 for £578, now sold out, they are being shipped on the 7th of june.

The blower will run at much higher temps and much louder, that is 100% guaranteed, the only benefit blower "founder edition" has over custom is that it is very good on 4-way SLI and can be put in a tower without fans 😛

Pascal, to my knowledge, no longer supports 4-way SLI.

It does buddy, 2 way SLI is basically the same as it always has been, but if you want to go 3 or 4 way SLI then you need register with nvidia for it on their website to get the driver version that supports it.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from alec10 : "When will non reference 1080's release?"

In the UK the GTX EVGA 1080 (custom x2fan-aircooled) is advertised to ship on the 7th of june, it was on the title page of the product and a livechat advisor told me that.

from the spec sheet. this is for the founder's edition only and not custom cards which will vary wildly.
Graphics Card Dimensions:
4.376" Height
10.5" Length
2- Slot Width

Wow. I'm kind of supprised.

For those who don't want to read the entire thing:

Basically, the Radeon Technologies Group wants to split completely apart from AMD and once again become ATI. Then form a partnership with Intel as being the main graphics processor maufacturer for Intel. Leaving AMD's CPU group in the dust.

I just read that article. Where are they getting all this information from, though? I didn't know Polaris was being released next week in some secluded area of China.

here is a list of all custom cards i have seen so far. i have linked all the product pages i can find or announcement materials is applicable. still chasing down a few and will update as i find them (EVGA's site is FUBAR right now so can't get their product pages yet). i see specs listed on other sites but have no clue where most have come from but will include clock speeds, slot width and power needs as i verify them from wherever. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902597

feel free to bring up any i missed with links if possible :)

founder's editions were available today if you could get one before they were out of stock. custom cards are still at least a week away or more. they will also probably sell out quickly first run. if there is any info about a specific card and when/where it can be bought someone will post it here more than likely. but it's no guarantee that there will be advanced notice of when it will hit stores.

@anort & techie (sorry mobile won't let me quote posts)
Interesting that the part you took from the HardOCP article was about the possibility of splitting off and going over to Intel. If I were summarizing the article, I would have written:

AMD is in total disarray. Polaris is a potential disaster, and the head of their GPU division is trying to salvage what he can by trying to break away to another company.

It seems like their internal problems and the way they may be affecting their product launches is one of the major points. That article, by the way, has blown up the internet on other sites, but not so much on this one.

Ya know what, I honestly think that would be for the best... ATI partnered with Intel would make for MUCH better competition against nvidia than AMD ever will... better competition means better cards all around and better pricing. I mean am I right or am I right?

I got the same thing out of that article that anort and techie did i think. To me it seems like the AMD graphics division head wants to spin off the graphics division, buy shares in it, then sell it to intel to make personal profit.

What I got was exactly what 17seconds posted. AMD is in trouble and their new cards are terrible. I'd heard rumors before this but that's the first time that it wasn't reported as a rumor.
