Usually 4x the cost of consumer cards, or thereabouts. So $8000 MSRP.
Plus an additional MSRP or 4 for the scalpers surcharge. 😆Usually 4x the cost of consumer cards, or thereabouts. So $8000 MSRP.
Granted, and if they do push the VRAM, probably another price tier up.Multiplied by demand factor (3) + scalpers surcharge. 😆
And once you are in a normal tropical resident and inside a case, even the fractal torrent, you will have a hard time to keep all your other components from burning to death... as much as I don't care too much about power draw overall (electric bill is acceptable here), I can't stand this baking machineSo, after further reflection (and testing), I've dropped the score to 4.0 stars and added more of a discussion of thermals. One of my concerns is with the RTX 5090 Founders Edition over time.
You know how I questioned if the GPU cooler could really handle 575W in the preview? (I did, and referenced the hot running 3080 Ti FE.) Well, it depends on your definition of "handle." If you play a game that can make the GPU pull that much power, it will basically have to drop GPU clocks to keep the GPU temperatures from going too high.
I've checked a couple of games now where if you play for 20+ minutes straight, you can expect the GPU cores to get up into the 80~82 C range. The GDDR7 can hit 96C as well, which is within spec but still pretty toasty. And the card itself will have external surface temperatures of up to 77C in places. (Most of the card is "only" in the 50~60 C range, but it's still pretty darn hot to the touch!)
