[citation][nom]Darkerson[/nom]I seriously doubt either of those card are gonna rain on AMD's parade. What are we gonna hear next? Nvidia renaming half their current 4XX series to 5xx so they can trick people into thinking they having something "new" to compete against AMD's new offerings? It wouldnt surprise me one bit, I mean seriously, how many times was the 8800 renamed before they finally made something truly new?[/citation]
do nvidias credit, they had a hell of a card, and didn't need to, ati (at the time) was still playing catch up for quite a while.
[citation][nom]Proxy711[/nom]Why would you want a 480? well i guess if your motherboard doesn't have sli. because 2 460s in sli beat a 480 in every way but slightly more watt usage. some sites report its only a 15watt difference at 100% load. 480s in sli is just a huge waste of money. even if it dropped 100 dollars its still a waste. use that extra 500 for a good SSD that will help more then having 2 480s when your monitor cant display more then 60fps or 120fps if you have a 3d monitor.[/citation]
some people are willing to pay the extra money to never go under 60fps. but lets be honest here, if you have money to sli two 480s you have a 2560 x 1600 monitor money, and even on cards today maxing at that resolution can dive down into the 50-60fps range, and even than, lower once you factor in the possibility of 3d or multiple monitors.
[citation][nom]LORD_ORION[/nom]LOL... so I guess this means the price won't drop on the GTS 450.The article doesn't make a whole lot of sense in its logic. Nvidia is going to release a $100 card to rain on AMD's parade? The only thing that would matter for the AMD new launch is dropping the 460 down by $30+.[/citation]
actualy where is most of the money made in graphics cards, as in cards sold?
the appearance of a new line with nvidias marketing could up atis party of dominance a bit, but only till the 6xxx low ends launch
