Doubt it.
Released =! Competitive

Fermi is a really big, really expensive chip.
I highly doubt nVidia will try to undercut ATI as far as price/performance goes...

But I, for one, am really hoping that their release will cause for an immediate price reduction from ATI.

Lately i have been on the ATI bandwagon, but i can't wait to see how the Fermi benchies compare to ATI's current oferings... hope the price/performance ratio is close, only that will drive down the prices.

I have a feeling ATI has something waiting for when Fermi comes out. It seems like they've been one step ahead of Nvidia everytime for the last year or so.

Either way, color me excited.

You never know you might just get your wish and maybe a good deal thanks to ATI. 320 and 384 shader cards should come out later on in the year so that NVidia can keep cost of the GTX480 and 470 down in order to break even or turn a profit.

Sounds exciting!
Unfortunately word on the street is that nVidia will have 7,000 - 8,000 gpus availible by the end of March.
Compare that to AMD's 5870 release of 100,000+ gpus. And most of us know you can still bearly get your hands on a 5870.

By the time you whitle down the avalible gpus by giving them to the press nVidia will probablly have 1,000 gpus left to sell. Those things are going to be more expensive than Fararis.

I already bought a 5870... I'm not about to buy nVidia any time soon.

My 8800GTX crapped out and I was forced to pick up a new grafix card... if nVidia had a DX11 card on the market, I may have gone that route, but I bought the 5870 and haven't looked back. I'm really impressed by it.

So what!! It is one graphic card that will probably cost around 300 dollars. I used be excited about this kind of stuff but I grew up and spending money on other stuff. You can get a decent graphic card for around 100 to 130 dollars.

They still do not know how to price cards....heard $500 for the lower one and $670 for the higher one.....ATI it is then...unless they offer unbelievable performance for those prices....

Finally, PAX is in my backyard and i can actually go. Good times. Hope Nvidia's press conference is slightly better than its one at CES -- my vision is still blurry from all the 3D nonsense.

Yeah!!!, the GPU war is coming, let's see who is the new GPUs king. For me, few hours ago i was thinking on buy a 5850, but with that news I will wait 'till March 26, the same day of my daughter's birthday!!!

Might be best to wait for benchmarks and pricing before making any rash decisions.

Here we go again. Hope the technical reviews and system requirements are available as soon as the card hits the market. We'll get a ton of inquiries about power requirements over in the power supply section of the Tom's Hardware Forum.
