Do you really expect to get an equivalent price PC 2 years later to replace your old PC that is worth $100 now? $325 PC is a great deal.

[citation][nom]scuba dave[/nom]Oh noes.. Crap.. I let one single solitary spelling error get through while battling a battle of such non-importance?! Oh god... What have I done.Big deal kid. I make spelling errors, from time to time. I'm not perfect, like you however. ;PHOWEVER.Egyptians were spelling before the Phoenicians. Guess you'll be taking another history class while your packing your bags to leave America right? Mah Europians(<-on purpose, lol) b wantin thur land bak brah!Try something mature this time instead of tying and invalid insult at me. Because I can do far better ones than you appear capable of.So shall we continue continuing? Waiting on you. *Edited due to IE being retarded and cutting my comment off for the second time today.*[/citation]
That's not true. The Egyptians used symbols up until 1 A.D., not a true alphabet. The Phoenicians had their alphabet as far back as 1100 B.C. I almost used Egyptians, but determined it to be innaccurate.

.....well The Americans doesn't really Americans....the only Americans are "Native Indians" but they was exterminated..... :pfff:

..well you don't know your own history also, the U.S. government "recruited" brains from Germany after the WWII to help your country in the space program(like Dr. Brown ).

In fact you don't have anything original...your low are inspirited by Roman Low.
In Las Vegas you find copy of Pyramids-Egypt, Eiffel Tower-France, etc..etc,we don't need copies....
A good wine you by from France end Italy, a good food end natural you find in italian, france, greece, restaurants.
YOUR COUNTRY is dependent of brains from Europe end Asia...
P.s. the name of your town's are also imported from Europe 😀

No, yes it is true. The alphabet is a series of symbols itself. Aka:

Alphabet: An alphabet is a standardized set of letters—basic written symbols or graphemes (aka, exactly what the egyptians used.)

And Eqyptians used theirs first. Unless of course, you think you know better than the source's provided on my link, and/or know better than the standard definition of the word alphabet? If so, I'd like to see your degrees, and certifications.

America was created by God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? :hello: you escape from a mental hospital???
America as a country/continent was : discovered by Christopher Columbus(Cristoforo Colombo), named America by Amerigo Vespucci end your country was populated by emigrants ....
:sol:

Good wine is from California which is in the United States of America. We don't need French wine here. It is completely trivial and pointless.

My country isn't dependent on snobs from Europe.

In Las Vegas, we have a habitable place with plenty of food and electricity to go around. I kinda doubt that the sand filled dunes of Egypt have that. However since when is Egypt part of Europe? I thought Egypt was North Africa. And they said Americans don't know geography? LOL.

But one thing I think we can agree on here is that Compaq probably was invented by some American businessman and it is the crappiest computer on Earth! It is so bad you don't have to be blonde to be dumb enough to not know how to use one 😀 I bet whoever created that company drives a Dodge Charger to match with his shoddy company. LOL

I referred to the fact that in America are replicas of monuments, names, from other parts of the globe, not only from Europe, but perhaps you can't understand that.... 🙁

[citation][nom]Ciuy[/nom]Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX is AMD cpu with AMD graphics ) .Anyway this lawsuit is so typical in US, thats why US is number 1 in stupidity.[/citation]

More importantly...it's a LOW-end, entry-level laptop with a single core AMD V140 processor.... That's not in compliance with the agreed to settlement. Those getting these "laptops" are getting screwed. They're essentially getting an overgrown netbook....

Egypt was there first, but egyptians did not invent computers either. :sol:

I am part of this settlement as well, and my dead laptop has a Turion TL-60 cpu and 4 gigs of ram, it also has an HDMI output that I used to use until the whole think crapped out. This compaq that they are offering now is a LOT slower CPU and 1/2 the ram and no HDMI output. I have seen the new laptop at best buy a couple weeks ago and it LOOKS like a cheap model and was on sale for $299 as well. This is a nice gesture but not "equal or similar" to what I had. Even if they sent money and I could put it twards a model that would have all the functions that I need and HAD with my dead laptop. If I could be sure that the motherboards would hold up I would love to have it repaired but even they don't have any faith and just easier to replace it.

Yeah whatever pal. Their faulty chip caused a premature death of an HP DV6000 series laptop of mine. Google bumpgate, you dickhead.

Oh, and the replacement laptop they're offering is a crappy single core unit. Much slower than many of the dual core machines affected.

[citation][nom]rooket[/nom]Point is, without America everyone would still be ruled by tyranny. Without the USA, none of us would even be typing on the internet nor have computers.America was created by God I guess we'll all have to perish now? be realistic.[/citation]
Or maybe we would already have flying cars and cold fusion if there was no America. You cant say what would have happen.
But true is court and patent system is realy broken in US allowing everyone to sue anyone for anything and patent what ever you want which is pretty much slowing down science and technology development.
America maybe created internet, but also Patent Trols.

Perhaps if they did not invent the Internet in the US but in Europe several years later, we would have IP addresses with more than 4 bytes. LOL

[citation][nom]The Greater Good[/nom]What 3rd world shit-hole are you from?[/citation]
Let's see, Nvidia is an American company as is Dell and HP and all three are screwing their customers. This is typical American business behavior and Americans wonder why they're falling behind? Who wants to buy products from companies who sell junk at a premium and then won't stand behind what they sell? I get better service from Asian companies, so that's where my money goes. I've also been an American much longer than the kids on here who are claiming America can do no wrong. Live and learn.

Honestly, I think people are just nitpicking with this one. Your old laptop is now worth $100. Deal with it.

Off-topic: The US most definitely didn't save the world from tyranny as much as you'd like to believe in that. What they did was stick their noses in everything around the world unrelated to them, even back in the 20's.

That will be the legacy of US for me.

It seems to me that facts brought to light in some situations are more important then many people understand. What if several major companies bought and installed defective parts on their products. That could happen. Then what if what should not have happened is that after they became aware that the parts were bad they continued to use them to make their products and attempted to cover up the evidence that they were aware that the parts were defective. What if they then, in order to cover their warranty obligations, repaired returned failed products with more of the same parts, that they knew were defective, in order to stall their customers until the warranty period was over. Then what if they were able to do all of this without anyone going to jail, so far. In addition what if when all of these things were documented they agreed to settle, without admitting wrong doing, to replace a small number of these products, the documented ones only. They then started to replace these products with another product worth 1/10th the retail value of the original product. Now to me the next logical step is for the tax payers to reduce the pay of the law enforcement officials that are paid to investigate and prosecute things like this by 90%. With the money saved by this reduction in taxes we can all go out and buy something. Like a new computer.

Here is a response I received from HP when I submitted a question of comparison between the CQ56-115DX and my HP dv 6327cl:

"HP Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX Notebook PC:
-Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
-Microprocessor / 2.30GHz AMD V-Series Processor for Notebook PCs V140
-Memory / 2GB DDR3 System Memory (2 DIMM)
-Video Graphics / ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics
-Video Memory / Up to 893MB
-Hard Drive / 250GB (5400RPM)
-Webcam / No
-Media Card Reader / No

HP Pavilion dv6327cl Notebook PC:
-Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium
-Microprocessor / 1.6 GHz AMD Turion ™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-50
-Memory / 1024MB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
-Video Graphics/ NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 (UMA)
-Hard Drive / 120GB 5400RPM (SATA)
-Webcam / HP Webcam with Integrated Microphone
-5-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader

As far as performance, the HP Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX Notebook PC is superior. However, there are specific features in the HP Pavilion dv6327cl Notebook PC that are not supported by the HP Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX Notebook PC."

I paid $778+ tax, so that I could have the better computer, with a web cam, light scribe technology, dual core processor...none of which the CQ56-115DX has! Not only did I lose time of use of my HP, I am now asked to accept an inferior model as a "replacement"?

[citation][nom]Murissokah[/nom]I have to disagree with you. If nVidia provided faulty hardware that kept people from enjoying their money's worth at the time, they should indeed absorb the depreciation, and even the opportunity cost(the cost of not being able to use your money for something else). If you buy something and its delivered an year later, were you not harmed?[/citation]

fr Americans.. sun rises in america and sets in america.. :)

I had a approval date of February 25, 2011 and now the time is ten to sixteen weeks. The Settlement website still states six to ten weeks. It does not take that long to order and manufacure a computer, by the time I get the replacement it may be next year.

Dell is trying to scam people into paying for the repairs. they told me that it was not covered and wanted 368.00 after much conversation he said " oh ya it is covered, we will replace the video card. then 1 month later they called and said it was out of warranty and wanted to charge for the repairs. i went over everythin g AGAIN! and now they said they will repair ir and send it within 5 days. we'll see! SCAMMERS

Has anyone gotten their new laptops yet? Mine was received by them about six weeks ago. Pathetic HP: two in a half months to ship out a junk laptop, just more of a reason to never purchase from HP or Nvidia again.
