Hey All,

I have Gigabyte X99 UD4 Motherboard
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-x99-ud4_e.pdf

Just installed new Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB.

I took out my other HDD's and SSD's and re-installed windows 10 using a flash drive on the new NVME SSD.

Checking the read and write specifications the max is around 3,000mb/s

Im only getting 800mb?

Am i doing something wrong?

I cant find anything in the bios mine is (F11 i think 2016 bios) which dosn't say anything about NVME so i dont know what setting to put it at,
the SATA controlls only say things such as ACHI and IDE. cant see anything about NVME.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Solution
From your specs:
1 x M.2 PCIe connector
(Socket 3, M key, type 2260/2280 SATA & PCIe x2/x1 SSD support)

That is a PCIe x2 M.2 port. Approx 1/3 the speed of a x4 that you'd see on a new motherboard.

So that performance is just about right. There is nothing to "change" or reconfigure.
