Question NVME SSD - Sometimes disappears/doesn't get detected after a reboot

Hey guys,

Sorry if this question has already been asked before, but I'm unsure of how to proceed.

I recently bought a WD-Black SN850x (2TB) SSD and installed it. The problem is it sometimes isn't detected ater I reboot.

Specs:
Motherboard: AMD 450 Max Tomahawk
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x
16gb RAM
GPU: NVidia GeForce RTX 2060
It seems to reappear after I power off/on enough, but it's clearly not working as intended.

I have 2 other SSD's (linked by SATA) and they never disconnect or have any issues.

My BIOS was last updated in 2019, so I thought it may be that however I'm worried about doing it and potentially bricking my PC.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Could it be a power supply/motherboard issue?

It may be unrelated, but I have had my USB's sometimes flash on/off. (Which leads me to believe it's a power/MB fault?)

Any help would be appreciated.

What SATA ports are the 3 SSD's connected to?

Have you tried another known working SATA cable for the new 2 TB SSD?

Open Disk Management and expand the screen so all can be seen.

Take a screenshot and post the screenshot here via imgur (www.imgur.com)

Try to get screenshots when the drive is and is not present.

Try taking the m.2 in and out of the slot a couple of times see if it makes a diff.

Hey guys

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately it's still having the same issue..

There's a power light on the m.2 ssd, and if it comes on then it works fine, but on some boots it just doesn't light up as if it's not detected at all :/

I might try to update the BIOS to see if it helps

I'm booting from a different SSD, it just seems to be the M.2 one which is temperamental, very odd :S
